Shermco has acquired Power Quality Engineering (PQE), expanding Shermco’s electrical engineering and commissioning footprint in Central Texas and targeting growth in the data center market. The companies didn’t disclose transaction terms.
PQE, founded in 1996 and based in Cedar Park, Texas, provides electrical system design and engineering, commissioning, and maintenance services. PQE serves mission-critical sectors including data centers, semiconductors, healthcare, water/wastewater, and commercial facilities, according to the announcement.
Shermco said the deal strengthens its core service offerings, broadens its presence in Central Texas, and supports its expansion in data centers. Shermco also positioned the combined team as a regional provider of “power systems engineering and NETA field services,” tying PQE’s technical staff and customer relationships to Shermco’s national scale and service platform.
“This partnership advances our strategic growth plan by expanding electrical engineering services, and delivering integrated solutions across electrical system maintenance, engineering, and specialized testing,” said Phil Petrocelli, CEO of Shermco. He added that “customers will gain access to deeper technical experts, broader geographic reach, and a more comprehensive suite of high-value services.”
Vanessa Bloom, Founder of PQE, said, “Partnering with Shermco gives our customers access to broader capabilities and greater scale, while preserving the culture and commitment to quality that define PQE.”
Shermco is headquartered in Irving, Texas, and provides electrical testing, engineering and design, maintenance, and repair services. The company said it operates “more than 40 locations” and participates in NETA (the InterNational Electrical Testing Association), EASA (Electrical Apparatus Service Association), and ACP (American Clean Power Association).
