Antin acquires NorthC Datacenters, expanding data center footprint in Europe

Antin Infrastructure Partners has agreed to acquire NorthC Datacenters, an enterprise colocation provider with 25 data centers in the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. The investment, made through Antin’s €10.2 billion Flagship Fund V, aims to expand Antin’s role in digital infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise clients in Northwest Europe. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first half of 2026, Antin reports.

NorthC, based in Amsterdam, operates 25 data centers and has secured more than 140 MW of gross grid capacity from a mix of operational and greenfield sites. Since its formation in 2019 through the merger of two Dutch data center operators, NorthC has grown through organic development and acquisitions, including its recent addition of six sites in Germany and the Netherlands.

The platform serves over 1,600 clients, including cloud and IT service providers, carriers, public sector organizations, financial institutions, and customers in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, industry, and transport sectors. NorthC’s colocation services are designed to address ongoing IT outsourcing, cloud adoption, data sovereignty requirements, and emerging AI workload demands in the data center market.

According to Antin representatives Stéphane Ifker and Maximilian Lindner, “We have a strong conviction on the growth potential for colocation data centres, and NorthC is the leading operator in this space in Europe,” and, “NorthC is well positioned to accelerate its expansion and consolidate its leadership in a fast-growing and increasingly strategic segment of the digital infrastructure market. We look forward to supporting Alexandra and the team to achieve the next phase of NorthC’s growth.”

NorthC plans to continue expanding under Antin’s ownership, with an ongoing focus on high-quality colocation solutions and supporting long-term digital infrastructure needs across Europe.
