Exowatt launches ExoRise powered-land projects for hyperscale data center power

Exowatt has announced ExoRise, a new business arm that develops powered land and energy infrastructure for hyperscale data centers. Exowatt says ExoRise combines land development, power delivery, and its proprietary P3 dispatchable solar technology to shorten “years-long grid interconnection timelines” for customers facing rising artificial intelligence (AI) power demand.

Exowatt says P3 stores energy as heat and converts it to electricity on demand, with the goal of delivering reliable power day and night. ExoRise projects are planned for high-solar regions in the US Southwest, including New Mexico, West Texas, Arizona, and Nevada, which Exowatt says offer abundant land and strong solar resources.

Exowatt positions ExoRise as an alternative to traditional data center development that relies on urban and suburban grids. The company says ExoRise supports behind-the-meter and off-grid deployment on remote land to deliver large-scale power without burdening local ratepayers.

“Hyperscalers should not have to piece together land, power, and infrastructure on their own,” said Hannan Happi, CEO of Exowatt. “ExoRise delivers everything together so customers can focus on compute while we handle the power.”

Exowatt says Nic Bustamante, Chief Data Center Officer, will lead partnerships with hyperscaler off-takers and infrastructure financiers. Exowatt expects its first ExoRise pilot project to be operational by the end of 2026, and says the pilot will support a “90+ GWh backlog of signed customer demand.” Exowatt also reports that it formally unveiled ExoRise at the PTC Conference.
