HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has signed a contract with Corban Energy Group to supply large-scale power generation systems for US data centers, built around the company’s 9.6 MW HiMSEN engines. The deal is valued at USD 673.8 million and covers a combined capacity of 1,000 MW intended to support power supply for data centers operated by a major US technology company.
The contract calls for power generation systems equipped with 9.6 MW HiMSEN engines. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries describes the units as high-capacity, medium-speed engines designed for continuous 24/7 operation, with an emphasis on power generation efficiency and reliability.
A 1,000 MW order is a serious number in a data center context, even if the exact deployment architecture isn’t described. For operators, on-site generation is usually about resilience and power availability, especially when new IT loads are landing faster than utility capacity or interconnect timelines.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries called this its largest-ever order for power generation engines. The company also pointed to a previous agreement signed in April valued at USD 425 million with US-based energy infrastructure developer AEG to supply power generation equipment for data centers.
Corban Energy Group provides gas, LNG, and power products to infrastructure projects that include data centers and Department of War projects.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries said the two companies plan to maintain a close collaborative relationship and expand business cooperation on follow-on projects.
