CPI launches VersaEdge wall-mount cabinet for edge data center deployments

Chatsworth Products (CPI) has announced the VersaEdge Wall-Mount Cabinet, a new wall-mounted cabinet designed for edge infrastructure deployments that CPI says is intended to simplify deployment and management of distributed computing environments. CPI says the product will make its public debut at BICSI Winter 2026, where it plans to show the cabinet’s modular design, thermal performance, and rapid-deployment features.

CPI positions VersaEdge as a turnkey cabinet for edge-driven workloads, highlighting modular scalability, streamlined installation, and reliability. The cabinet is supported by what CPI describes as a “robust accessory ecosystem” aligned with CPI’s broader infrastructure portfolio, and it is designed to accommodate varied edge deployments and diverse hardware configurations.

On thermal design, CPI says VersaEdge uses an enhanced airflow design intended to minimize heat buildup and maintain temperature stability, with support for passive heat dissipation up to 10 kW. For higher thermal demands and high-density equipment loads, CPI lists optional modular cooling kits that provide additional airflow.

For install and operations, CPI says removable components and “installation-friendly features” reduce deployment time, while equipment access is intended to speed maintenance and upgrades without disrupting operations. CPI also lists integrated cable-management features aimed at organized, scalable, configurable layouts.

For physical security in distributed sites, CPI lists combination and electronic locking options intended to provide controlled, audit-ready access, and notes applicability to “PCI-driven, regulated, and distributed edge deployments.” “With increasing demand for distributed compute and edge deployments, customers need infrastructure that can adapt quickly — without sacrificing reliability or performance,” said Michael Moore, Senior Product Manager, Open Architecture Systems, CPI.

VersaEdge is available worldwide through CPI’s authorized distribution and partner network, according to the announcement. CPI also says visitors can see the product at the CPI booth #301 at BICSI Winter 2026.
