Galaxy Data Center announces $2 billion hyperscale data center and green energy cluster in Thailand

Galaxy Data Center has announced an investment plan of USD 2 billion to expand its digital infrastructure footprint in Thailand. The initiative will include the development of hyperscale data center capacity and a green energy synergy cluster in Rayong, located within Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. Galaxy Data Center states that this project aligns with the Thai government’s “Thailand 4.0” strategy, which targets digital infrastructure investment and artificial intelligence (AI) industry development.

The announcement was made on August 6, 2025, at a high-level government forum, “Prime Minister Meets Investors: Confidence in Thailand’s Future,” led by Thailand’s Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai. Galaxy Data Center was among 30 global companies invited to participate, and founder Feng Hui conducted a closed-door meeting with the Acting Prime Minister to discuss the company’s strategic vision for Thailand.

Galaxy Data Center reports it plans to deploy data center technologies at gigawatt scale, incorporating environmentally friendly AI data center technologies to boost Rayong’s digital ecosystem. The focus will be on sustainable infrastructure, knowledge transfer, and local workforce development to position Rayong as a leading digital and eco-friendly technology hub for Thailand and the wider Eastern Economic Corridor.

Feng Hui, Founder of Galaxy Data Center, stated, “As a global IDC provider committed to sustainable development, our investment in Thailand has strategic significance for expanding the digital and green energy ecosystem. By implementing various large-scale environmentally friendly AI data center technologies, GDC will accelerate the growth of Rayong’s digital ecosystem. Our initiatives include knowledge transfer, local human resource development, and building Rayong into a top digital and green technology hub—creating transformative opportunities for the people of Thailand, the EEC, and broader national economic goals.”

The project will focus on supporting Thailand’s digital economy initiatives and advancing the adoption of AI and green technology within the data center industry, with active government backing, according to the announcement.
