Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA launch Blackwell-powered AI infrastructure for automotive and factory innovation

Hyundai Motor Group has announced a new phase of technical collaboration with NVIDIA, focused on deploying NVIDIA Blackwell-powered infrastructure to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) innovation in vehicle design, autonomous driving, smart factories, and robotics. The partnership also includes support from the Korean government and targets national AI capability growth through a planned investment of approximately $3 billion, development of dedicated AI centers, and cultivation of local engineering talent.

According to NVIDIA, Hyundai Motor Group will deploy a supercomputer leveraging 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to enable integrated AI model training, validation, and deployment across mobility and manufacturing applications. The technical stack includes infrastructure for large-scale AI model training via NVIDIA DGX and related platforms, real-time and simulation-based digital twin development using NVIDIA Omniverse and Cosmos on RTX PRO Servers, and in-vehicle intelligence driven by NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor running on the safety-certified NVIDIA DriveOS operating system.

For smart factory and vehicle applications, Hyundai Motor Group plans to use the NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise platform to build digital twins of manufacturing environments and driving scenarios. This supports precision control, discrete event simulation, and software- and hardware-in-the-loop validation. The integration of NVIDIA Isaac Sim enables virtual validation of robotic tasks and ergonomic assessments prior to physical deployment. Hyundai Motor Group is also testing NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs for high-fidelity digital twins of regional environments, advancing the development pipeline for data center-scale simulation workloads.

NVIDIA notes that Hyundai Motor Group is utilizing NVIDIA Nemotron open models with the NeMo software framework to accelerate large language model (LLM) and proprietary AI development. This will facilitate over-the-air updates, in-vehicle AI features such as personalized assistants, and adaptive infotainment and comfort systems. The company is also developing advanced driver-assistance systems, next-generation safety features, and immersive user experiences using DRIVE AGX Thor systems within future vehicles.

In support of Korea’s national physical AI cluster initiative, Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA will establish an NVIDIA AI Technology Center, a Physical AI Application Center, and regional data centers. These facilities aim to foster technical exchanges and workforce development in AI engineering and operations.
