MaxLinear and KTNF partner on hardware-based storage accelerator for high-performance computing and cloud data centers

MaxLinear, a provider of data storage acceleration technologies for data centers, has announced a strategic partnership with server technology provider KTNF. Under the partnership, KTNF will integrate MaxLinear’s Panther Storage Accelerator into its server hardware. The Panther accelerator consolidates critical data processing functions—real-time compression, deduplication, encryption, data protection, and validation—into one hardware-based solution, significantly improving processing and transfer speeds compared to traditional software-based or FPGA approaches, according to MaxLinear.

Designed specifically to offload resource-intensive storage processes, Panther enhances security through integrated threat-blocking capabilities during real-time data movement. The accelerator aims to eliminate processing bottlenecks and improve overall infrastructure efficiency, resulting in lower operating costs and optimized storage utilization.

KTNF has implemented an “experience zone” demonstration at its data center, allowing customers to test and evaluate the Panther-equipped servers first-hand. Target deployments include high-performance computing (HPC), cloud computing, and big data analytics environments, where rapid data transfer rates, real-time processing, and robust security are critical. Additionally, KTNF plans to offer the Panther solution to financial institutions requiring secure, ultra-low-latency data processing, and to sectors like defense and governmental organizations emphasizing data protection.

“Our expertise in high-performance storage accelerator SoCs combined with KTNF’s deep knowledge of server technologies will pave the way for innovative products that improve data management, security, and efficiency,” said Vikas Choudhary, Vice President of Connectivity and Storage business at MaxLinear.

“We plan to cooperate with the financial industry, where ultra-high-speed transaction environments and secure processing and storage of sensitive financial data are essential, as well as the military and public sectors, where security is paramount,” said Lee Jung-yeon, CEO of KTNF.
