Prevalon and Emerson integrate battery energy storage and automation for data center resilience

Prevalon Energy and Emerson have announced a strategic collaboration to deliver integrated energy storage and automation solutions designed for data centers. The partnership brings together Prevalon’s liquid-cooled, factory-tested HD5 energy storage platform and insightOS energy management system with Emerson’s Ovation automation platform, aiming to improve reliability and operational intelligence for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise sites.

According to the companies, the Prevalon HD5 platform provides five megawatt-hours of liquid-cooled, factory-tested energy storage. This US-built solution is engineered for safety, reliability, and scalability. The insightOS energy management system complements the hardware by delivering real-time operational insights. Emerson’s Ovation automation platform adds unified control and monitoring, providing data center operators with a comprehensive view of critical operations to support informed decision-making.

The alliance targets mission-critical data center infrastructure, with plans to jointly pursue opportunities globally. The collaboration is focused on helping operators achieve high levels of performance, uptime, and manage rising power demands associated with rapid digital growth. Both companies report that the combined technologies will support data centers aiming to increase resilience and automate complex energy storage and delivery functions.

Regarding technical convergence, Michael McManus, Chief Strategy Officer at Prevalon Energy, stated, “This collaboration unites two complementary technologies to transform how power is produced, stored, and delivered to mission-critical data center operations.”

Prevalon and Emerson will coordinate marketing, development, and customer engagement to promote adoption of next-generation integrated control, automation, and energy storage solutions across the global data center industry.
