CoolIT Systems has introduced the CHx1500, a liquid-to-liquid coolant distribution unit (CDU) engineered for high-performance data center applications, especially artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC). With a cooling capacity of 1,500 kW, flow rates up to 1.2 liters per minute per kilowatt (LPM/kW) at a 5°C approach temperature difference (ATD), and secondary loop pumping pressure up to 44 psi, the CHx1500 offers significantly greater performance in a compact row-based form factor.
The CHx1500 has a footprint of 750 mm × 1200 mm, providing a cooling load density of approximately 1,516 kW/m². Compared to other major row-based CDUs available, the CHx1500 claims 27% to 148% higher cooling load capacity, 53% to 463% greater cooling density, and 26% to 75% higher pump pressure. According to CoolIT, the single rack-sized unit is fully serviceable from both front and back, includes hot-swappable critical components, and provides multiple redundancy levels.
Specifically targeting hyperscale data centers, the CHx1500’s cooling capacity is suited to support nine racks containing NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 servers. Engineered collaboratively with processor manufacturers and hyperscalers, the system features stainless steel piping, built-in 25-micron filters, premium wetted materials, and intelligent controls that dynamically adjust coolant temperature, flow, and pressure for precise chip cooling.
Remote management protocols supported include Redfish, SNMP, TCP/IP, and Modbus, as well as direct local management via a 10-inch touchscreen interface. CoolIT offers worldwide ordering, comprehensive support, and onsite services in over 75 countries including system design, installation, CDU-to-server certification, and maintenance.
“CoolIT engineered the CHx1500 to exceed AI and HPC’s most demanding cooling roadmap requirements,” said Neil Mulji, CoolIT’s VP, Product. “What we created in the CHx1500 is not only the most powerful row-based CDU unit in the market – providing the best cost per kW – but also a unit packed with all the advanced features and functionality that our OEM and hyperscale customers expect of CoolIT.”
