Albireo Energy launches managed cloud service for BAS and EPMS data

Albireo Energy has announced Private Cloud Services (PCS), a secure, fully managed cloud platform designed to host and protect Building Automation System (BAS) and Energy Power Management Systems (EPMS) data. Albireo Energy claims PCS addresses capital expense and complexity by removing on-premise server requirements while providing a separation between operational technology and information technology for facilities.

According to Albireo Energy, PCS transfers building management data to a SOC 2 Type 2–certified, cybersecure cloud environment that Albireo Energy hosts and maintains. The service provides 99 percent data accessibility and visibility via a fully managed solution, including hardware installation, secure data transfer using a clientless virtual private network (VPN), and ongoing updates and cybersecurity monitoring to maintain compliance, stability, and current security standards.

The company notes that PCS integrates with major BAS and EPMS platforms and works with Albireo’s other intelligent services, such as Critical Alarm Messenger and Simple Building Analytics. PCS can be added to both new and existing Albireo Energy agreements, with implementation covering site assessment, configuration, testing, and user training. Most migrations are completed within weeks.

PCS is operated by the Albireo Energy Managed Services Center, which provides around-the-clock monitoring, engineering support, and system optimization across major original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products and Albireo’s intelligent services.

Regarding the technical and operational benefits, Kevin Baxter, President of Albireo Energy, said, “PCS removes the tension between IT and building management by safeguarding building systems from enterprise network vulnerabilities while maintaining seamless connectivity for facility managers.”
