Crusoe is opening a new manufacturing facility in Brighton, Colorado, to build its modular data center product, Crusoe Spark, in higher volume. The site, branded the “Spark Factory,” is intended to increase how quickly Crusoe can add AI compute capacity for Crusoe Cloud and its Managed Inference offerings.
Crusoe also introduced Crusoe Edge Zones, a cloud offering aimed at deploying low-latency, “sovereign” AI capacity in specific geographies worldwide.
Crusoe Spark is described as a turnkey, prefabricated modular “AI factory” designed for edge deployments. Each Spark deployment integrates power, cooling, remote monitoring, fire suppression, and high-density racks into a single modular platform.
On scaling, Crusoe said Spark deployments can range from “hundreds of kilowatts to tens or hundreds of megawatts,” with modules deployed as stand-alone compute hubs or grouped into larger clusters. Crusoe also said it can deliver these AI-optimized modular data centers in as little as three months.
On power, Crusoe said Spark units can pair with solar, repurposed EV batteries, grid power, natural gas power generation, or small modular nuclear reactors.
On cooling, Crusoe said Spark builds on an air-cooled design and that it plans a liquid-cooled version in the second half of 2026 for ultra-high-density GPU clusters. That timing matters for operators planning next-gen AI footprints: moving from air to liquid often changes rack layout, CDU (coolant distribution unit) strategy, commissioning scope, and spares planning across a fleet.
The Brighton facility is 352,000 square feet. Crusoe said the combination of leasing and build-out for the plant, plus investment in an initial fleet of Crusoe Spark units, represents “more than $200 million” of investment. The company also expects the site to create more than 200 local jobs in Brighton, adding to more than 500 existing employees across its manufacturing footprint in Colorado, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
“Speed is core to Crusoe’s DNA, and is the primary driver behind our new Spark Factory—allowing us to move beyond traditional construction methods to deliver AI infrastructure in a modular productized form factor with velocity,” said Cully Cavness, co-founder, president, and chief strategy officer of Crusoe.
Crusoe expects the first factory-produced Crusoe Spark modules to be completed in Q3 2026.
