Fujitsu plans to start global sales of its next-generation FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU in November 2026, including standalone processor sales to cloud and data center operators, as well as server vendors. The company also plans to launch Fujitsu MONAKA Server, a Japan-manufactured system built around the FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU, targeting what it describes as sovereign AI infrastructure needs.
The FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU is described as a Japan-developed 2 nm, 3D-stacked design. Fujitsu lists a maximum operating frequency of 3.8 GHz and memory transfer speeds of 8800 MT/s, positioning the platform for AI inference workloads that are often constrained by how quickly data can be fed to the cores.
Fujitsu also makes performance and efficiency claims that will matter to operators if they hold up in real deployments: the company says FUJITSU-MONAKA delivers “twice the AI inference throughput” and better power efficiency than other CPUs, and that it can halve the number of servers and power consumption needed for equivalent processing loads. Those are big assertions, and they put the burden on benchmarking methodology, workload definition, and system configuration details that data center teams will want before making capacity plans around the platform.
On the system side, Fujitsu MONAKA Server is pitched as deployable in air-cooled data centers, with Fujitsu citing a space-saving, power-efficient design intended to increase AI infrastructure capacity without requiring specialized facility upgrades. Fujitsu also points to domestic manufacturing for traceability and supply chain transparency, plus “resource pooling technology” for future scalability and cooling technologies intended to reduce cooling energy consumption.
Commercially, Fujitsu plans to provide FUJITSU-MONAKA to cloud and data center operators and server vendors starting in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, with global availability including the US and APAC regions. For Fujitsu MONAKA Server, the company plans availability to select customers in financial services, telecommunications, and manufacturing starting in the second half of fiscal year 2026, with shipments commencing sequentially from April 2027 in Japan and Europe.
