Frore Systems has introduced LiquidJet Diamond, a liquid-cooling coldplate for AI-focused data centers that adds an integrated diamond spreader aimed at GPU hotspot cooling. The company ties the design directly to higher “AI Tokens/Watt,” claiming up to a 35% increase versus traditional skived coldplates.
LiquidJet Diamond builds on Frore’s LiquidJet coldplate, which uses what the company describes as a 3D “ultra short-loop” multi-stage coldplate architecture that can be customized to a GPU’s power map, including localized hotspots. Frore reports that LiquidJet (without the diamond spreader) delivers a 12 °C reduction in GPU die temperature, which it says translates to 25% higher Tokens/Watt. With the added diamond spreader, Frore reports an additional 10 °C reduction in hotspot die temperature, taking the claimed Tokens/Watt improvement to 35%.
On the thermal side, the key engineering claim is hotspot density: Frore says LiquidJet Diamond can cool “extreme hotspots up to 770 W/cm².” That’s the spec operators will scrutinize, because hotspot limits are what often force clocks down or push designs toward more complex cooling stacks. But Tokens/Watt is an application-level metric, not a thermal one, so anyone evaluating this will want to correlate those efficiency claims to their own workload, power caps, and GPU operating limits.
Frore also provides a set of comparative claims against a skived coldplate: “over 150% higher max power density” for hotspot cooling, “75% higher heat transfer efficiency,” “16 – 22 ºC cooler GPU,” and “30 – 35% more AI Tokens/Watt.” The company describes LiquidJet Diamond as a “seamless drop-in upgrade” and says the design is intended to scale “in both size and volume” for AI data center demand.
Seshu Madhavapeddy, founder and CEO of Frore Systems, framed the product around emerging hotspot constraints: “GPUs are increasing power density and creating extreme hotspots which, if not properly cooled, hinder the GPU from maximizing performance.” He said LiquidJet Diamond’s combination of an integrated diamond spreader and the coldplate’s internal architecture “can cool extreme hotspots up to 770 W/ cm2.”
