Advanced Energy launches 100 kW data center power shelf and high-efficiency converters for AI workloads

Advanced Energy has announced new power conversion products at the 2025 Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit, including a 100 kW, 48-volt OCP Open Rack Version 3 (ORv3) HPR-compliant power shelf and compact high-efficiency DC-DC converters. These solutions target data centers operating high-density AI servers and GPU-intensive racks, delivering higher efficiency and supporting the transition to high-voltage direct current (HVDC) architectures.

The 100 kW power shelf integrates six 18 kW power supply units with a dedicated power management module in a 1OU form factor. According to Advanced Energy, the system achieves more than 97.5% efficiency to reduce energy loss in large-scale AI workloads. The company also displays other ORv3 solutions, including 48-volt shelves from 18 kW to 72 kW.

On the component side, Advanced Energy showcases board-mounted non-isolated DC-DC converters, the NDQ1600 and NDQ1300. Each provides 1,600 watts or 1,300 watts respectively, converts 48 volts to 12 volts, and reaches up to 98% efficiency. The lineup further includes M-CRPS (Multi-source Common Redundant Power Supply) compliant, Titanium efficiency hot-swappable power supplies: the 3.6 kW CSU3600AT (54 volts) and the 1.8 kW CST1800AT (12 volts).

David Richmond, senior vice president for High Volume Products, System Power, commented, “AI’s rapid growth is reshaping data center requirements,” said David Richmond, senior vice president, High Volume Products, System Power. “Our focus is on power conversion technologies that improve density and minimize energy loss, enabling more sustainable and reliable AI infrastructure.”

For technical professionals attending OCP Global Summit, Harry Soin, senior director of Technical Marketing – Hyperscale, is scheduled to present a “Rack & Power Update and Product Overview” session on October 15 at 8:00 a.m. in Room LL20D.
