Bloom Energy has introduced Power Connect, a deployment system the company says can cut onsite power installation time by over 40% for new generation projects. The pitch for data centers and other power-constrained builds is straightforward: faster on-the-ground electrical work and more predictable schedules for bringing new capacity online.
Power Connect shifts “critical electrical integration” work from the job site to the factory. Bloom describes the system as arriving pre-connected, pre-wired, and tested, with the goal of reducing field complexity and accelerating commissioning once equipment is delivered and set in place.
For data center engineers, the practical implication is less about the generation technology itself and more about the construction sequence and risk profile. Electrical integration in the field can become a critical-path item when projects depend on multiple contractors, complex coordination, and commissioning windows that are hard to move. Factory standardization can also reduce variability between deployments, which matters when an operator needs repeatable build patterns across multiple sites.
Bloom also tied Power Connect to current labor constraints, arguing that moving work offsite helps limited electrical trades focus on higher-value tasks while allowing more projects to proceed with the existing workforce.
“It reflects how we’re rethinking the entire power deployment process, moving complexity out of the field and into a controlled manufacturing process,” said Joe Tavi, Head of Bloom Energy’s Customer Installation Group. “By standardizing critical electrical integration, Bloom Power Connect creates a simpler, more repeatable installation model, helping customers move more quickly from project approval to electrons flowing.”
Bloom said Power Connect is manufactured and assembled in the United States through the company’s network, and it linked the product to domestic manufacturing and job creation.
