Lambda and Microsoft deploy large-scale data center AI infrastructure powered by NVIDIA GPUs

Lambda has announced a multibillion-dollar agreement with Microsoft to deliver large-scale AI cloud compute under a multi-year contract. The partnership involves deploying AI infrastructure powered by tens of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs, including the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems. Lambda reports that this collaboration will support high-density, cloud-based accelerated computing resources for demanding workloads.

As part of the deal, Lambda will deploy a significant NVIDIA AI infrastructure footprint, which it claims will expand access to advanced compute resources required for artificial intelligence applications, especially in the data center sector. The deployment will rely on NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 systems, designed for enterprise and hyperscale AI workloads that require dense GPU clusters for training and inference.

Targeting cloud and hyperscale operators, the collaboration addresses the surge in global demand for high-performance computing driven by AI assistants and enterprise adoption. Lambda positions itself as a partner capable of delivering compute infrastructure for AI products at large scale in data centers.

“It’s great to watch the Microsoft and Lambda teams working together to deploy these massive AI supercomputers,” said Stephen Balaban, CEO of Lambda. “We’ve been working with Microsoft for more than eight years, and this is a phenomenal next step in our relationship.”
