Wasabi Technologies achieves ISO 27001 certification for cloud storage data security

Wasabi Technologies has announced its achievement of ISO/IEC 27001 certification, validating the company’s adherence to the internationally recognized standard for information security management systems. This certification enables data center operators, cloud migration teams, and IT security professionals to confidently store sensitive workloads, benefiting from robust security practices at the infrastructure and application layers without sacrificing cost efficiency or performance.

Wasabi claims its ISO/IEC 27001 compliance assures comprehensive security protection, covering essential cloud storage components including advanced encryption, strict access controls, and a zero-trust architecture safeguarding data at rest and in transit. Additionally, Wasabi’s storage services include immutable storage and multi-user authentication designed to mitigate ransomware threats.

The certification specifically addresses requirements relevant to data-intensive sectors including healthcare, education, government, financial services, and media. It also helps IT security teams streamline regulatory compliance efforts through pre-aligned documentation, automated compliance monitoring, and built-in audit readiness.

“ISO/IEC 27001 isn’t just a check-the-box exercise for Wasabi,” said David Friend, co-founder and CEO of Wasabi Technologies. “It’s about proactively helping our customers navigate a difficult cyber threat and compliance landscape. While other cloud providers force customers to choose between security, performance, and affordability, we deliver all three without compromise. This certification complements our data center operators’ existing ISO 27001 certifications, meaning our customers benefit from a fully certified storage stack from infrastructure to application layer.”
