Wind River has announced a solution that enables enterprises to host the ServiceNow AI Platform within their own data centers using Wind River Cloud Platform. According to Wind River, this integration allows organizations to deploy, scale, upgrade, and manage ServiceNow applications on-premises, claiming improved privacy, data governance, and operational control. The solution targets a range of industries, with specific applications for regulated and high-availability environments.
Wind River reports that Cloud Platform provides greater than six-nines availability (99.9999 percent) in production, positioning it as a private-cloud foundation for enterprise and mission-critical workloads. The platform is designed for both virtualized and containerized workloads, supporting both container and virtual machine (VM) deployment on a distributed Kubernetes-based infrastructure. It includes built-in orchestration, automation, and analytics tools for streamlined operations and accelerated delivery.
The solution specifically supports real-time data processing and automation across data center and edge systems. Wind River claims the integration allows enterprises to comply with data-locality and regulatory requirements without impacting performance, making it suitable for use cases such as information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) convergence and hybrid cloud deployments. The unified infrastructure supports AI, automation, and operational workloads, integrating IT and OT systems for centralized management and responsiveness.
Technical features highlighted include automated activation of ServiceNow AI Platform applications, reducing manual installation steps for IT teams. Intelligent lifecycle management provides automated upgrades and updates of ServiceNow applications using orchestration and automation capabilities built into Cloud Platform. The system prioritizes local data processing to reduce latency, enhance uptime, and enable operational resilience.
The ServiceNow AI Platform itself provides workflow automation, a database, and low and no-code development tools to connect business functions and streamline technology investments on a single platform.
