Leviton launches high-density fiber and immersion cooling solutions for AI and hyperscale data centers

Leviton has announced new fiber optic cabling and connectivity products for hyperscale and artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, along with immersion-ready cables for liquid cooling and increased global manufacturing capacity. The newly introduced STRATA and TORRENT product lines target rising bandwidth and thermal requirements in high-density environments, offering solutions engineered for rapid deployment and scalability.

Leviton’s STRATA product ecosystem includes new IDX Enclosures with capacity for up to 6,912 fibers for splicing or interconnect, and fiber patch panels delivering 3,456-fiber density per rack unit using 16-fiber very small form factor MMC connectivity. The product line also features high-count fiber assemblies, array cords, harnesses, adapter plates, and a Mass Connect System enabling accelerated rollouts of AI and machine learning fiber networks. Assembly manufacturing is supported by five certified fiber optic factories worldwide, ensuring supply for large-scale data center initiatives. Customized cabinet solutions supporting more than 40,000 fibers are regionally available in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

For data centers implementing liquid immersion cooling, Leviton’s TORRENT line introduces immersion-ready copper and fiber cables, tested and found acceptable according to the OCP Materials Compatibility in Immersion Cooling, Revision 1.0 requirements. The cables’ jacket and insulation materials retained at least 80 percent of tensile strength and elongation after 14 days of aging at 80 degrees Celsius, as validated by ASTM D412 testing protocols.

The company expanded manufacturing capacity by completing a $25 million expansion of its Fuquay Varina, North Carolina fiber cabling factory in April 2025, doubling its size. Additional manufacturing and assembly facilities in North America and Europe, including a recent expansion in Europe, provide scalability to support U.S. and international data center growth.

Leviton’s VAULT collaboration lab offers customers access to secure, private demonstration areas to see and test the latest STRATA solutions developed in collaboration with hyperscale and AI data center operators. The company also expanded its network design engineering team, including NVIDIA-Certified Associates in AI Infrastructure and Operations, to deliver customized network designs and support.

In June 2025, Cisco and Leviton announced an engineering partnership to develop solutions for AI-ready data centers, aiming to address network expansion needs and changing cooling requirements. Leviton has also launched a new season of its Beyond Bandwidth podcast focusing on AI infrastructure topics such as network architecture, power, cooling, and cabling.
