CLOU shows 5.154 MWh Aqua-C3.0 container energy storage at Smarter E Europe 2026

CLOU Electronics presented utility-scale and C&I energy storage systems under the Midea Energy umbrella at The Smarter E Europe 2026 in Munich, including a containerized 5.154 MWh platform and a 261 kWh cabinet system aimed at European deployments.

For utility-scale storage, CLOU introduced the Aqua-C3.0 Ultra, rated at 5.154 MWh in a “10 plus-foot” container. CLOU lists the total system weight at less than 39 tons. The company argues the format is intended to balance capacity, physical dimensions, and weight versus 20-foot containerized systems, with the goal of lowering logistics cost, reducing site footprint, and simplifying installation.

On the commercial and industrial side, CLOU showed the Aqua-E261, built around 314 Ah battery cells and rated for 261 kWh per cabinet. CLOU says the unit uses pack-level and cell-level balanced cooling to hold overall cell temperature difference to ≤2.5 °C, a spec that matters directly for usable capacity and degradation when cabinets are deployed in larger banks.

Midea Energy also described an “integrated energy solution” for AI data center scenarios that combines multiple electrical and thermal building blocks. The architecture described includes energy storage systems, HVDC, SST, BBU, and Midea’s maglev liquid-cooling chillers, with CLOU positioned as the platform integrating Midea’s cooling and supply chain capabilities with CLOU’s power electronics and energy storage experience. For data center engineers, the interesting part is the explicit bundling of power conversion and storage with liquid cooling in a single reference stack, even though the company didn’t provide sizing, fault-mode, or redundancy details here.

CLOU also released a white paper focused on “Cell-Level DC-DC Energy Transfer Technology,” targeting consistency management as cell formats move to 500 Ah and above. The company describes a two-way energy scheduling channel among battery cells supporting up to 5 A currents, enabling continuous online management of cell consistency. CLOU claims this approach can increase “full-lifecycle recurring revenue” by about 4%.

Separately, CLOU says it has implemented large-scale energy storage projects in European countries including Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and North Macedonia, and has more than 50 C&I energy storage sites in Europe, including the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.
