Cadence adds NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems to digital twin library for data centers

Cadence has expanded its Reality Digital Twin Platform library to include a digital twin model of the NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems. According to Cadence, this addition enables data center designers and operators to simulate the deployment of high-performance AI computing platforms in digital twins for data center and AI factory planning.

The Reality Digital Twin Platform from Cadence allows users to create high-fidelity digital twins of data centers and AI factories, supporting specification-based modeling for power, space, cooling, cost, and environmental constraints. The platform uses vendor-provided digital models that replicate the behavior of their physical equipment. Users can perform scenario analysis such as failure or upgrade planning and leverage the digital twin throughout the operational lifecycle of the data center to maintain optimal performance.

The recent collaboration with NVIDIA includes the integration of the DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems, giving engineers access to behaviorally accurate digital models for simulation. The platform’s library contains more than 14,000 items from over 750 vendors, and Cadence will add new items upon request for parts not represented in the existing library. The platform also supports the NVIDIA Omniverse blueprint for AI factory design and operations.

Michael Jackson, senior vice president, System Design and Analysis at Cadence, stated, “With the addition of a digital model of NVIDIA’s DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems to our Cadence Reality Digital Twin Platform library, designers can model behaviorally accurate simulations of some of the most powerful accelerated systems in the world, reducing design time and improving decision-making accuracy for mission-critical projects.”

Tim Costa, general manager, Industrial and Computational Engineering at NVIDIA, said, “Creating the digital twin of our DGX SuperPOD with DGX GB200 systems is an important step in enabling the ecosystem to accelerate AI factory buildouts.” Costa further stated, “This step in our ongoing collaboration with Cadence fills a crucial need as the pace of the innovation increases and time-to-service shrinks.”

Cadence will also demonstrate the Reality Digital Twin Platform at the AI Infra Summit in Santa Clara, California, from September 9 to 11, with booth displays and participation in key panels and talks relevant to chip design, AI-driven data center operations, and simulation-driven risk management.
