Confidential computing platform Anjuna Seaglass now supports on-prem AMD SEV

Anjuna Security has made its Anjuna Seaglass confidential computing platform available for on-premises data centers using AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) on AMD EPYC datacenter CPUs. The move brings the same Seaglass platform Anjuna supports on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud to infrastructure running AMD SEV with Secure Nested Paging (SNP) hardware.

The company is targeting regulated environments and other operators running sensitive applications on bare metal, with an on-prem deployment model that doesn’t require application code changes or a new operating model. Anjuna frames the goal as making confidential computing behave “the same way on-prem as it does in the cloud,” including consistent policies and operational workflow.

At the platform level, Seaglass uses AMD SEV to provide hardware-enforced memory encryption and isolation “at the workload level,” aimed at containerized applications running on bare metal. Anjuna also highlights continuity across environments: the same policy model, an attestation workflow, and an operational experience used in public cloud deployments.

For data center and infrastructure teams, the practical implication is operational consistency more than raw feature novelty. Confidential computing on-prem has often meant bespoke integration work across hardware features, provisioning, and attestation workflows. If Seaglass on AMD SEV delivers what it claims—deployability without refactoring and unified policy management—it could reduce the friction that keeps many on-prem estates from adopting data-in-use protections beyond a limited set of workloads.

Key capabilities Anjuna lists for Seaglass on AMD SEV include unified policy management through Anjuna Policy Manager, remote attestation intended to provide cryptographic proof of workload integrity and environment trustworthiness, support for air-gapped environments, and compliance alignment with frameworks and regulations including NIST AI RMF, DORA, HIPAA, and GDPR.

“AMD SEV, built into EPYC CPUs, provides a hardware-enforced foundation for confidential computing with memory encryption, integrity protection and attestation,” said Madhu Rangarajan, corporate vice president, Compute and Enterprise AI Products, AMD. “Anjuna Seaglass builds on that foundation to streamline deployment of confidential computing for containerized workloads in customers’ own data centers.”
