Hubbell to acquire DMC Power to expand utility and data center connectivity solutions

Hubbell has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire DMC Power, a designer and manufacturer of high voltage connector technology systems for utility substations, transmission markets, and data center interconnections, for $825 million in cash. As reported by Hubbell, this acquisition will expand its Utility Solutions offerings with complementary technology from DMC Power, including its swage connection system and related tooling designed for subsea and high-voltage infrastructure. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

DMC Power’s swage connection system is specifically cited as a strong add-on to Hubbell’s existing substation and transmission connector product lines. Hubbell claims this system will support faster, more reliable buildout of utility substations and data center interconnections. DMC Power currently operates two manufacturing sites in Carson, California and Olive Branch, Mississippi, with distribution facilities across North America and employs more than 350 people.

According to Hubbell, DMC Power projects approximately $130 million in revenue and $60 million in EBITDA for 2026. The $825 million transaction will be financed through a mix of cash on hand and debt, and Hubbell expects the acquisition to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share in 2026.

“DMC Power’s swage connection system offers a strong complement to our existing substation and transmission connector solutions,” said Greg Gumbs, President of Hubbell Utility Solutions. “This acquisition will deepen and broaden Hubbell’s technology offering with our core customers, enabling fast, reliable buildout of substation infrastructure and data center interconnections while further accelerating our near and long-term growth profile.”

DMC Power’s core customers and applications, as described by Hubbell, include transmission, substation, distribution, industrial projects, and notably, infrastructure related to data center interconnections.
