Interpublic Group achieves ISO data security certifications for global operations

Interpublic Group has announced it has achieved three internationally recognized certifications for information security and privacy management across all global operations. The certifications—ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (Information Security), ISO/IEC 27701:2019 (Privacy Information Management), and ISO/IEC 27017:2015 (Cloud Security)—cover all Interpublic and agency offices worldwide, according to the company.

The certifications are issued by Schellman, an accredited third-party auditor. Interpublic Group reports that Schellman’s audit confirms its global systems, processes, and controls meet the latest requirements for protecting sensitive information, managing privacy, and securing cloud environments according to established ISO standards.

Interpublic Group claims these achievements demonstrate the company’s established governance framework and ongoing investments in its technology platform, supporting secure innovation and data management at global scale. The focus areas explicitly outlined in the certifications include information security management, privacy information management practices, and technical cloud security controls.

“By attaining ISO 27017 and ISO 27701 in addition to the foundational ISO 27001 worldwide, we are ensuring our global infrastructure not only encourages creativity and innovation, but does so responsibly and securely,” said Demetri Paneras, Global Chief Technology Officer at Interpublic.

“This achievement reflects the relentless dedication of our global technology and security teams. Our approach is not static; it is a continuous cycle of assessment, adaptation, and enhancement. Maintaining these certifications requires ongoing vigilance, and that is the promise we make to our people, our partners, and the world-class brands we serve,” said Myra Santos, Global Director of Security at Interpublic.

Interpublic Group’s technology certifications are relevant for any hyperscale operators, colocation providers, and data center technology vendors seeking to evaluate standards-based risk management and cloud security frameworks across enterprise environments.
