Netic wins eight-year contract for Danish Health Data Authority data center operations

Netic, a Danish IT operations specialist and subsidiary of Trifork, has been awarded an eight-year contract by the Danish Health Data Authority to manage operations for the National Service Platform (NSP) and the Shared Medication Record (FMK). The contract, valued at approximately EUR 20 million, was secured through SKI tender 02.22.

As part of the agreement, Netic will consolidate data center operations for both NSP and FMK onto a new shared infrastructure and provide application operations for NSP. The project prioritizes modernizing the operating model, strengthening security, and ensuring a robust and future-proof platform, according to the Danish Health Data Authority.

The Authority has required uncompromising security and national data sovereignty for these critical healthcare systems. All data and supporting systems must remain in Denmark, in compliance with data protection laws and to ensure operational continuity even if Denmark is digitally isolated.

Netic’s technical solution will deliver physical data localization in Denmark, full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and protections against unintended data transfers outside Denmark. The contract also specifies high availability, scalability for future operational needs, and a robust contingency plan with all key resources—such as backups, cryptographic keys, and personnel—based locally in Denmark.

In the tender process, the Danish Health Data Authority highlighted the importance of a collaborative partnership model. Mette Jørgensen, Deputy Director of the Danish Health Data Authority, stated, “This is more than an operations contract; it is a partnership. We look forward to a close and transparent collaboration with Netic, where together we will modernize and future-proof the operation of NSP and FMK for the benefit of citizens and healthcare professionals throughout Denmark,” said Mette Jørgensen, Deputy Director of the Danish Health Data Authority.

The agreement affirms Netic’s position as a provider of secure and nationally critical IT operations, with all data center facilities and operations remaining within Danish borders.
