PROENERGY has signed a contract to deliver 650 MW of power generation equipment for Crusoe, which Crusoe plans to install to support upcoming hyperscale data center projects billed as “AI factories.” The package consists of 13 PROENERGY PE6000 aeroderivative gas turbine generator sets, each rated at 50 MW, with delivery targeted by summer 2027.
The equipment is based on PROENERGY’s PE6000 aeroderivative engine platform. PROENERGY describes the PE6000 units as “fast-start power on demand” generators that can operate on multiple fuels. For data center operators, the key engineering takeaway is the scale: 13 x 50 MW packages is a utility-sized block of generation that can materially change how a campus plans for power availability, energization sequencing, and resilience—especially when grid capacity or timelines are a constraint.
PROENERGY said the equipment for Crusoe will be test-fit and quality-checked at its Sedalia manufacturing facility before shipment, with the goal of arriving onsite ready to install. That kind of factory validation can reduce onsite integration risk, but it doesn’t eliminate the hard work on the receiving end: interconnect, protection, controls integration, and the full commissioning stack still make or break schedule.
