Altair updates HPCWorks 2026 for advanced GPU, AI, and quantum-ready data center workloads

Altair has announced the release of Altair HPCWorks 2026, delivering multiple new features for high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud environments. Key enhancements include advanced GPU integration, expanded artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities, and improved reporting functions. The company says these upgrades help users analyze, tune, and optimize complex HPC deployments, which is crucial for data center operators managing advanced workloads.

Altair reports that HPCWorks 2026 now offers extended support for GPU-accelerated computing, including compatibility with NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel accelerators. IT administrators can achieve faster GPU onboarding, and gain deeper insights through expanded reporting. The newest release also integrates a Kubernetes connector and Jupyter Notebook for streamlined AI and machine learning model training.

To simplify HPC operations, Altair highlights AI-powered features such as agentic scheduling and memory selection, as well as a new predictive memory resource tool that optimizes job submissions and resource usage. Integration with Altair RapidMiner supports custom AI model creation tailored for specialized workloads.

HPCWorks 2026 supports hybrid classical-quantum workloads, enabling users to manage novel workflows that combine traditional HPC with quantum computing. This allows detection of complex, dynamic patterns, including applications such as fraud detection. Additional upgrades include an enhanced cluster dashboard, expanded reporting, and a Windows desktop client for streamlined HPC access. IT administrators gain a streaming application programming interface (API) for automating responses to cloud infrastructure changes in real time, alongside security, performance, and functionality updates.

Sam Mahalingam, chief technology officer at Altair, said, “The technology landscape is rapidly evolving, and we’re tailoring Altair solutions to support the latest AI, machine learning, data analytics, EDA, and even quantum workloads.” Mahalingam adds, “Now as part of Siemens, we can push the technology even further, with the industry-leading Altair HPCWorks platform as the foundation of intelligent, data-driven computing.”
