Kerun Intelligent Control has launched an integrated transformer and substation package aimed at AI data centers and other high-density computing sites in hot-climate regions, including the Middle East. The company is targeting deployments where high ambient temperatures, heavy electrical loads, and 24/7 operation can stress power infrastructure.
Kerun’s Integrated Transformer and Substation Solutions combine transformers, prefabricated substations, switchgear, and intelligent monitoring systems into a single offering for data center developers, EPC contractors, and operators. The stated goal is a more stable, scalable power distribution buildout for mission-critical facilities.
On the transformer side, Kerun highlights a K-Factor harmonic-resistant design intended for server clusters and “high-harmonic environments,” with the objective of reducing overheating risk. The company also offers an FR3 vegetable oil-based insulating fluid option, positioning it for improved fire safety, thermal performance, and overload tolerance in facilities that need uninterrupted operation. Kerun also points to “high-efficiency power distribution” intended to reduce power losses, energy consumption, and operating costs.
The package includes intelligent monitoring and detection intended to visualize operating parameters and support preventive maintenance. Kerun also flags support for redundancy configurations for mission-critical loads, and says the system can be customized based on voltage level, local climate conditions, installation environment, and project specifications.
For data center engineering teams designing for hot climates, transformer thermal margins, protection coordination, and operating stability under nonlinear loads are hard constraints, not nice-to-haves. Harmonics and sustained high loading can drive extra heating and reduce equipment life, so products that explicitly target those stressors are worth a close look during design reviews, especially when paired with monitoring that can feed maintenance planning.
“Data centers in high-temperature environments require power systems that can deliver stability, safety and efficiency under continuous operating pressure,” said Mr. Wang, General Manager of Kerun. More details on the data center-focused transformer solution are available here.
