DG Matrix debuts solid-state transformer system to deliver 800 VDC for NVIDIA MGX AI factories

DG Matrix introduced the Interport 360 SST platform for modular data centers and “AI factories” built on NVIDIA MGX, pairing a solid-state transformer building block with a real-time control layer intended to deliver native 800 VDC power to the white space. The company described the system as deployable from a single modular element, the Interport SST Cell, with orchestration handled by Interport OS.

DG Matrix framed Interport 360 Flex as a complete, skid-mounted power solution delivered as outdoor grey-space skids that can be paralleled as capacity grows. The skids integrate power conversion, energy storage intended to smooth rapid changes in AI workload power demand, grid resources, on-site generation, and controls into a single software-defined stage that converts, routes, and controls power between AC and DC sources, storage, and compute loads, and outputs 800 VDC to higher-density AI compute racks. DG Matrix said the system is capable of taking in up to 34.5 kVAC.

The core building block is the Interport SST Cell, which DG Matrix described as a modular, galvanically isolated, multi-port power-conversion element used to assemble each Interport 360 Flex skid. DG Matrix said the SST Cell uses silicon-carbide power semiconductors and liquid cooling, targeting the higher densities associated with accelerated computing racks.

Interport OS is the software layer intended to make a skid of SST cells operate as a coordinated “power fabric.” DG Matrix said Interport OS coordinates power-routing scenarios across cells, ports, storage, and sources on sub-millisecond timescales, and implements functions typically delivered as discrete equipment in legacy electrical rooms, including UPS functionality, voltage and frequency ride-through, smoothing rapid changes in AI workload power demand, STATCOM grid-support functions, programmable protection, microgrid control, and AC/DC load optimization.

The practical implication for operators is straightforward: DG Matrix is aiming at the messy transition between legacy AC-distributed sites and higher-voltage DC distribution. A skid that accepts existing AC service and outputs native 800 VDC could shorten redesign cycles, but it also concentrates a lot of critical electrical-room functionality into a tightly integrated conversion-and-controls layer, putting a premium on validation, protection coordination, and operational tooling.

“Interport 360 Flex is the product our customers deploy, and the Interport SST Cell is the building block that makes it modular. Interport OS is the intelligence that coordinates power routing, ride-through, grid support, microgrid operation and smoothing rapid changes in AI workload power demand across the fabric in real time,” said Haroon Inam, CEO and co-founder of DG Matrix.

DG Matrix said the Interport SST Cell was featured on the NVIDIA MGX Ecosystem wall at OCP Global Summit as a power-infrastructure component aligned to NVIDIA MGX and NVIDIA’s 800 VDC architecture. The company also said it has worked with NVIDIA on technical alignment around 800 VDC architectures and MGX compatibility, including a yearlong program testing energy storage solutions for smoothing rapid changes in AI workload power demand.

DG Matrix did not provide pricing or general availability timing for Interport 360 Flex, the Interport SST Cell, or Interport OS.
