Longwell EC FanWall cuts CRAH fan energy 38% and drops PUE to 1.28

LONGWELL is rolling out an “AI-Era Data Center Cooling Pack” built around its LWBE3G EC plug-fan platform, targeting FanWall arrays for CRAH systems. In one project with a top-three global precision cooling OEM, the company reports a 38% reduction in CRAH fan energy and an improvement in the CRAH system’s PUE contribution from a 1.42 baseline to 1.28.

LONGWELL says it delivered 12 engineering samples in 35 days and passed DV/PV at a 100% first-time rate. The same project moved from “spec lock” to mass production in 90 days; by comparison, an incumbent European supplier had quoted 14 months of development plus six months of ramp.

Recorded outcomes from that deployment included the 38% fan energy reduction, a 6.5 dB(A) noise reduction, and “zero field failures,” according to LONGWELL. The customer’s first purchase order was 1,500 units, and LONGWELL says 2025 deliveries exceeded 80,000 units under a 2025–2027 framework agreement with a 60,000-unit annual minimum.

The cooling pack spans multiple fan categories used across the heat-rejection chain. LONGWELL lists LWBE3G EC plug fans for CRAH/CRAC applications and LWAE3G EC axial fans for condensers and cooling towers. Features called out include Modbus control, n+1 automatic failover, and optional bearing vibration sensors intended to provide 30–90 days of end-of-life warning.

Fan power is often an underappreciated lever in air-based cooling, especially as rack densities climb. LONGWELL ties its offering directly to that operational reality, citing a shift from 15–20 kW racks to 60–100 kW in two years, with “next-generation platforms” pushing beyond 100 kW. If the claimed fan-energy delta holds at comparable duty points, it can materially change what operators can do with CRAH airflow without paying the penalty in electrical overhead.

“AI compute has redefined data center cooling,” LONGWELL Founder and CEO Bruce Li said. “Above 60 kW per rack, the fan stage is no longer a component choice—it decides whether a PUE target is reachable at all.”
