Delta presented a next-generation EC motor design, updated EC fan families, and new HVDC and EC electric pump products for HVAC, data center, and industrial cooling applications at Chillventa 2026 in Nuremberg. The company is targeting higher-efficiency air-moving and liquid-cooling components intended to simplify integration while supporting higher heat loads, including in AI data centers.
The new EC fan motor is specified at “beyond the IE6-equivalent benchmark,” with Delta stating it has 20% lower losses than IE5. The motor is IP66-rated and uses a fully enclosed inner-rotor design that Delta says is nearly 30% more compact than its predecessor, aiming to reduce installation space while improving airflow and overall system efficiency. Delta also lists enhanced surge protection and full-load operation at ambient temperatures up to 70°C.
On controls and maintainability, the motor platform includes smart control and monitoring features, with optional Bluetooth and a vibration sensor for wireless monitoring and parameter changes. A built-in LED status indicator is intended to speed fault identification and reduce downtime.
Delta also highlighted EC fans designed to comply with ErP 2026 ecodesign requirements for equipment including chillers, dry coolers, and air-handling units. Depending on the model, Delta says these fans support full-load operation at ambient temperatures up to 70°C. For multi-fan electrical behavior, selected models are specified at total harmonic current distortion (THDi) below 5%, a spec that can matter in data center fan walls where many electronically commutated drives are operating in parallel on the same distribution.
For axial fan system performance, Delta listed optional diffusers and flow grids. Delta states the diffusers improve efficiency by approximately 8–10% and reduce noise by 2–3 dBA at the same operating point.
On the liquid side, Delta introduced an HVDC pump and “fully integrated” EC pumps that include built-in power conversion and motor control. Delta describes the HVDC pump as intended to support CDU coolant circulation for next-generation AI infrastructure using HVDC power architectures. The integrated EC pumps are aimed at eliminating external motor controllers and reducing cabling, with Delta stating they can weigh up to 30% less than comparable market offerings, targeting space-constrained deployments such as in-rack and in-row CDUs.
The pump portfolio also includes 48 VDC configurations. Depending on model, Delta lists BLDC motor efficiency exceeding 85%, low-noise and low-vibration operation, IPX6 protection, and an operating temperature range from −10°C up to 85°C.
“The rapid growth of AI infrastructure, electrification and energy-efficient HVAC systems is driving demand for more intelligent and efficient thermal management solutions,” said Patrick Ku, Head of the Power Electronics Business, Delta Electronics EMEA region.
