Advanced Energy has added three new M-CRPS power supplies to its CSU M-CRPS Series, targeting AI and data center platforms that are pushing higher rack power and tighter mechanical constraints. The new units scale the line to 3,600 W and break the 100 W/in3 power-density mark, with the company citing up to 112 W/in3 for 12 V and 54 V architectures.
The products are OCP-compliant and come in a compact 185 mm form factor. Advanced Energy is keeping the same chassis and mechanical design across multiple power levels, aiming to give system architects an upgrade path without a mechanical redesign as platform power increases.
New models include the 3,600 W CSU3600AT-9-3M0, intended for higher-power 54 V architectures, along with two 3,200 W units: the CSU3200AT-3-6M0 for 12 V output architectures used in AI and data center applications, and the CSU3200ADC-3-3M0, a 12 V-output, DC-input model aimed at LVDC-powered telecom and OCP +48 V busbar infrastructure.
On efficiency, Advanced Energy said the AC-input PSUs are certified to 80 Plus Titanium standards, while the DC-input model delivers a peak efficiency of 94%. The company also said the power supplies are designed for “excellent thermal performance” and “ultra-fast transient response time” to support demanding CPU and GPU workloads.
But the practical takeaway for data center engineers is simple: power density this high raises the stakes for airflow management and thermal headroom inside the PSU bay, especially in dense AI servers where every cubic inch is contested by accelerators, memory, and networking. If your platform is moving toward 54 V distribution or OCP-aligned power shelves, these units are designed to fit those electrical architectures while staying inside a standardized mechanical envelope.
“The newest additions to Advanced Energy’s M-CRPS portfolio combine high power density, cybersecurity features, and proven reliability in a compact 185 mm form factor,” said Conor Quinn, Vice President, Marketing for High Volume Products at Advanced Energy. Advanced Energy also said it has incorporated advanced cybersecurity and firmware security features into the power supplies.
