EdgeStart 8-GPU AI server cabinet targets solar-powered buildings, shares 80% revenue

Lektra is taking orders for EdgeStart, a self-contained AI server cabinet aimed at commercial and industrial building owners who have underutilized space and on-site solar and battery capacity. The pitch is straightforward: Lektra installs and operates the system remotely, sells GPU capacity through Lektra Cloud for inference and other GPU workloads, and pays the building owner 80% of the resulting revenue.

EdgeStart is built around an eight-GPU NVIDIA server cabinet and includes an online UPS, a metered power distribution unit, a firewall, and a switch. Lektra says a live dashboard presents usage, energy, and earnings, while the company handles customers, billing, monitoring, and support. Owners can start with one cabinet and expand by adding more units.

The technical and commercial details matter here because “behind-the-meter” GPU capacity changes the normal constraints operators face when they’re trying to monetize excess on-site generation. But a cabinet that can draw 7 kW to 14.5 kW at peak isn’t something you casually drop into spare floor space; building power distribution, heat rejection, and network connectivity will be the practical gating items.

Models, pricing, and power draw

Lektra is launching two EdgeStart configurations. The EdgeStart RTX includes eight NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, is priced at $310,197, and draws about 7 kW at peak. The EdgeStart B300 includes eight NVIDIA B300 GPUs, is priced at $840,951, and draws about 14.5 kW at peak. Lektra lists pricing as covering installed hardware and shipping.

Lektra provides estimated first-year owner earnings of about $9,700 per month for the RTX configuration and about $36,950 per month for the B300 configuration. Those earnings estimates assume 730 contracted hours per month at current market rates, an 80% owner revenue share, power priced at $0.10 per kWh, and the cost of fiber and data storage.

Financing and onboarding

Owners can pay in cash or finance through Blue Street Capital at 9% over 48 months with 20% down, subject to credit approval. Lektra lists estimated monthly payments of about $6,200 for the EdgeStart RTX and about $16,700 for the EdgeStart B300.

Lektra calls participating building owners “energy hosts.” The company describes the onboarding flow as a site assessment, an engineering review, and an earnings model, followed by purchase and then installation, testing, and bringing the system online.

Karl Andersen, founder and CEO of Lektra, said, “AI infrastructure doesn’t have to be concentrated behind the walls of a massive data center.”

EdgeStart is available to order now on Lektra’s website. Lektra also said initial configurations will support select NVIDIA GPU architectures, with additional hardware options and deployment configurations planned.
