SpacemiT launches 46-core V100 RISC-V server CPU with DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support

SpacemiT has introduced the V100, a 46-core RISC‑V server CPU aimed at general-purpose data center computing, AI agent infrastructure, and AI acceleration. The V100 debuted alongside three server platforms—the C2201 computing server, G5201 intelligent computing server, and S5236 storage server—targeting compute, AI acceleration, and large-scale storage workloads.

The V100 is a heterogeneous design combining six XiangShan Kunminghu V2R2 cores with 40 SpacemiT X100 cores. It supports clock speeds up to 2.4 GHz, and a cache-coherent interconnect enables dual-socket configurations scaling to 92 total cores.

On the I/O and memory side, each processor supports eight DDR5 memory channels and 52 PCIe 5.0 lanes for attaching accelerators, high-speed NICs, and storage. The chip includes hardware-assisted CPU, interrupt, and I/O virtualization, plus a hardware root of trust and server-class reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features. SpacemiT says the platform works with upstream Linux KVM without requiring a custom kernel.

For operators and system designers, those PCIe 5.0 lane counts and eight-channel DDR5 configurations are the practical headline: the platform is clearly built to sit in front of modern accelerator and networking configurations, rather than being limited to “developer server” roles. But the real gating factor for RISC‑V server adoption is less about core count and more about software and platform compliance, because that’s what determines whether you can treat the system like any other fleet node.

SpacemiT calls V100 the industry’s first general-purpose processor to fully comply with the RISC‑V server specifications, including the RVA23 Profile, the RISC‑V Server SoC and Server Platform specifications, Boot and Runtime Services (BRS), and the RISC‑V Security Model. The company says V100 has passed all BRS compliance tests and can install, boot, and run mainstream Linux distributions directly on V100 systems.

On systems, SpacemiT says the G5201 supports eight full-height, full-length, double-width accelerator cards, and it has been validated with accelerators from Kunlunxin and other vendors. The G5201 also supports RDMA (remote direct memory access) networking for cluster deployments.

On software enablement, SpacemiT says Ubuntu 26.10 officially supports V100, and that its processor support and toolchain optimization work has been merged upstream into projects including the Linux kernel and LLVM. RISC‑V International CEO Andrea Gallo said, “RISC‑V supports AI training and inference in data centers. RISC‑V is the architecture for intelligent computing.”

Zhijian Chen, SpacemiT’s founder and CEO, said, “V100 is an important step for SpacemiT as we expand from devices to the cloud. It also reflects RISC‑V’s progress toward real-world data center deployments at scale.”
