Dielectric Manufacturing expands data center busbar production with EMS acquisition

Dielectric Manufacturing, a specialist in custom metal and plastic components, has announced it has acquired EMS Industrial and Service Company, a long-standing manufacturer of electric busbars based in Richmond, Illinois. According to Dielectric Manufacturing, this acquisition increases its capabilities to deliver busbars and related components for high-growth sectors, specifically mentioning data centers, electric vehicles, power generation, telecommunications, and defense.

With this integration, Dielectric Manufacturing gains access to EMS Industrial’s expertise in copper busbars, aluminum busbars, and custom busbar system fabrication. Dielectric Manufacturing reports that the expanded production will provide customers—especially data center operators and technology vendors—with a wider component selection, increased efficiency, and lead times up to 75 percent shorter for busbar orders.

For data centers, these busbars support electrical distribution in high-density environments, aiding in efficient power management at scale. Dielectric Manufacturing says that all existing clients of Dielectric Manufacturing, Centerline Machine (acquired in 2015), and EMS Industrial will now have streamlined ordering and payment for a more extensive product lineup from one supplier, eliminating the need for additional vendor approvals.

Mike Esser, President and CEO of Dielectric Manufacturing, noted, “We’ve seen higher demand for electrical system parts used in booming industries such as power transmission, data centers and electric vehicles, and we expect that demand to continue growing,” Esser added, “EMS brings more than 25 years of high-quality busbar production and fast delivery, so we’re ready to meet our customers’ expanding needs.”

Founded over 50 years ago, Dielectric Manufacturing offers fabrication, machining, prototyping, assembly, and inventory management for custom plastic, carbon fiber, and metal components. EMS Industrial has focused on busbar manufacturing for more than 25 years, serving diverse electrical infrastructure requirements since 2000.
