Roman Stone to supply EZ-KEY precast duct bank for Ohio hyperscale data center

Roman Stone has been selected to supply its EZ-KEY Precast Duct Bank System for a hyperscale data center project in Canton, Ohio. The installation is part of the site’s underground electrical infrastructure work, where schedule risk, labor availability, and alignment quality can make or break downstream electrical scope.

The EZ-KEY system is a factory-produced, precast duct bank that arrives on site ready for installation, rather than being built as a traditional cast-in-place duct bank. Roman Stone describes the system as modular and “Lego-like,” using alignment cones and a proprietary Zip Pin connection method to keep sections aligned during assembly.

Roman Stone specifies the system in 10-foot sections, and states each section can be installed in under two minutes. In practice, that kind of claimed install rate is only valuable if excavation, bedding, placement, and inspection workflows can keep up, but precast duct bank systems do have a straightforward advantage: they can reduce on-site forming and curing dependencies that tend to collide with weather and trades congestion.

Roman Stone also points to nationwide logistics and mobile manufacturing capabilities, producing precast products at or near the project site and using a workforce from nearby communities. For contractors, local production can be as important as the duct bank design itself when transportation cost, hauling constraints, and site storage space become limiting factors.

“This data center project, which we believe will be the first of many, reflects the growing demand for innovative infrastructure solutions that improve productivity while maintaining exceptional quality,” said Daniel Murray, President and CEO of Roman Stone.

Roman Stone says the EZ-KEY system is used for critical infrastructure applications including data centers, substations, utility corridors, transportation, and telecommunications projects.
