Specified Technologies launched the EZ Path ULTRA Fire-Rated Pathway, a fire-rated cable pathway device designed for high-density data center and telecommunications cabling, including high-fill cable tray-supported systems that exceed the capacity of conventional pathway solutions.
EZ Path ULTRA is aimed at large volumes of data, communications, and power cabling in cable-dense environments. STI calls out use in high-fill cable tray systems, main distribution pathways, and backbone routing in high-capacity network environments, with the device intended to support efficient, repeatable installation in high-capacity cable builds.
On the physical integration side, EZ Path ULTRA is designed to accommodate both continuous and discontinuous cable tray systems. STI says appropriately sized devices support 12 in., 18 in., and 24 in. wide cable trays up to 6 in. tall, maintaining firestopping performance for the full capacity of the cable tray. The device also includes entryway headroom intended to accommodate oversized pulling heads or pre-connectorized fiber optic cables over the lifecycle of the installation.
For data center projects where pathways are a frequent friction point between structured cabling, power, and life-safety requirements, a fire-rated solution that’s built around high-fill tray geometries can reduce rework, especially when cable adds and changes are expected over time. But the real operational win is consistency: repeatable installs matter when you’re trying to keep commissioning and turnover schedules intact across many penetrations.
“By streamlining installation and simplifying ongoing pathway management, this product helps keep projects on schedule and minimizes downtime in mission-critical facilities,” said Justin Mentuck, product manager at Specified Technologies.
