Rittal introduces MGX architecture rack for high-density AI data center deployments

Rittal has announced the MGX architecture rack, a cabinet specifically designed for 19-inch rail environments and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA and manufactured by Rittal, the MGX rack has been engineered for use with the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72, NVIDIA GB300 NVL72, and Vera Rubin NVL144 systems. Rittal reports that this rack addresses high-density, AI-centric data center deployments, emphasizing production-readiness and scalability for customers deploying NVIDIA-based infrastructure.

The MGX architecture rack features a form factor optimized for 19-inch GPU-dense installations and is compatible with direct liquid cooling (DLC) systems for handling elevated thermal loads. Rittal specifies that the rack is built to withstand dynamic loads up to 1,400 kg for secure transit and site deployment. Integrated busbar support is rated up to 1,400 amperes (67.2 kW), allowing for the high power requirements of multiple GPU nodes and dense AI hardware. Adjustable rear cross-members and configurable mounting points support application-specific configurations.

Rittal states that these features aim to meet the mechanical, electrical, and cooling demands of modern AI workloads. The rack is intended to simplify procurement and deployment for hyperscale and enterprise data center operators by providing a tested, specification-compliant enclosure option that integrates with NVIDIA AI systems. With DLC readiness and scalable power delivery, the MGX rack targets data center environments needing robust infrastructure for AI-driven workloads.

Orders are now open for the MGX architecture rack. Rittal is providing ordering assistance and project-level technical guidance. The MGX rack can also be viewed at the NVIDIA MGX Wall demo during the OCP Global Summit.
