Accelsius deploys two-phase direct-to-chip liquid cooling IR150 at EdgeConneX training center

Accelsius is deploying its two-phase direct-to-chip liquid cooling system, the IR150, at the EdgeConneX Global Training Center in Houston, Texas. The IR150 deployment is intended to give EdgeConneX operators, technicians, and ecosystem partners hands-on experience installing and servicing two-phase liquid cooling systems for AI workloads.

The Global Training Center is located at the EdgeConneX Houston data center campus and is described as an operational, purpose-built learning environment designed to prepare service teams for next-generation infrastructure. EdgeConneX plans to incorporate Accelsius’ NeuCool two-phase direct-to-chip technology into training so participants can practice deployment and service workflows in a production-like setting before supporting field deployments.

Accelsius describes the IR150 as a commercial system that combines an IT rack and a coolant distribution unit (CDU) into a single integrated platform. The company says the IR150 integrates a two-phase CDU directly into the IT enclosure, targeting plug-and-play deployment for high-density, two-phase-enabled racks. Accelsius also says the integrated approach is intended to simplify installation, reduce total cooling system (TCS) complexity and cost, and confine failure domains to a single rack.

For data center teams, the practical value of a training deployment like this is straightforward: two-phase systems change the service model, and serviceability is usually where new cooling architectures win or lose in operations. Getting technicians time on hardware, procedures, and fault isolation in a controlled environment can reduce the odds of unpleasant surprises when liquid cooling shows up in a live AI deployment.

“Unlike conventional single-phase systems that require significant fluid management and maintenance within the server cooling loop, NeuCool frees maintenance teams to focus on uptime and efficiency workflows rather than sustaining the cooling infrastructure itself,” said John Hewitt, CEO of Accelsius. Brian Green, EVP Engineering & Operations at EdgeConneX, said, “Adding two-phase liquid cooling gives our teams and partners hands-on experience with a technology that’s becoming central to AI infrastructure.”

The EdgeConneX Global Training Center is open to customers, partners, and industry visitors for guided tours and hands-on training.
