AI liquid cooling deployment and maintenance services added via Unisys-Refroid partnership

Unisys and Refroid Technologies have partnered to help organizations build, deploy, and maintain high-performance AI infrastructure, combining Refroid’s liquid-cooling portfolio with Unisys’ global field services and delivery capabilities. The focus is the physical layer behind AI clusters—cooling, commissioning, and ongoing support for energy-intensive environments.

Refroid’s offerings in the partnership include direct-to-chip cooling, immersion cooling, coolant distribution units (CDUs), and hybrid load-bank technologies aimed at high-performance computing environments. Unisys is contributing field services spanning deployment, commissioning, and validation support, plus technical workforce enablement. The services also include AI-powered service management and lifecycle support delivered through Unisys’ Digital Workplace Solutions.

For data center engineers, the practical takeaway is that the hard part of scaling AI isn’t only getting accelerators into racks. It’s executing repeatable, OEM-aligned installation and commissioning of liquid-cooling systems across sites, then keeping them running with consistent maintenance practices. As rack power climbs, cooling and field execution become schedule drivers, not just design choices.

“AI is creating new infrastructure demands that extend well beyond the data center itself,” said Patrycja Sobera, senior vice president and general manager, Digital Workplace Solutions, Unisys. Refroid CEO Satya Bhavaraju added, “The bottleneck in AI infrastructure is no longer silicon, it is the skilled expertise required to deploy the cooling that silicon demands,” and said the partnership brings “certified technicians who can install, commission and maintain our systems to Original Equipment Manufacturer standards.”
