Gradiant to deliver turnkey water, wastewater for West Texas AI data center campus

Gradiant has signed a contract to deliver a turnkey water and wastewater system for a hyperscale AI data center campus in West Texas, a region where limited water resources can constrain new facility development. The scope covers potable water supply and wastewater treatment, with Gradiant acting as the single accountable partner for the package.

The project adds to Gradiant’s data center work tied to HyperSolved, the company’s integrated cooling water platform for AI data centers. Gradiant says HyperSolved combines treatment technologies, CURE Chemicals, and SmartOps.

For data center operators, the practical takeaway is that water infrastructure is increasingly part of the critical path for campus delivery, especially in water-constrained geographies. A single-contractor, full-scope approach can simplify interfaces between potable supply, process/cooling water treatment, and wastewater handling, but it also puts schedule and performance risk squarely on one vendor.

Gradiant says the West Texas site is being engineered for “zero discharge to surface water.” “We’re delivering the site’s full water and wastewater system engineered for zero discharge to surface water, on a construction schedule that leaves no room for delay,” said Nish Vora, Managing Director, Americas at Gradiant. Gradiant CEO Prakash Govindan added, “This project shows hyperscalers can build in these markets without water becoming the reason they can’t.”
