Jabil to acquire Hanley Energy Group, expanding data center power solutions portfolio

Jabil has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Hanley Energy Group, a provider of energy management and critical power solutions for data center infrastructure, in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $725 million, with up to $58 million in additional contingent consideration. Jabil states that the acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Hanley Energy Group’s projected first-year annualized revenue is estimated at $350 to $400 million, with mid-to-high-teens EBITDA margins and continuing double-digit revenue growth, according to Jabil.

Jabil reports that integrating Hanley Energy Group will enhance its suite of power management solutions for data centers, which currently includes low- and medium-voltage switch gear, power distribution units (PDUs), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. Hanley Energy brings experience in designing, building, and commissioning mission-critical power systems, spanning applications from the grid to hyperscale data centers. Jabil identifies Hanley Energy’s expertise in lifecycle services such as design, consulting, deployment, commissioning, and field support as a key strength for providing reliable, secure, and energy-efficient solutions globally.

According to Ed Bailey, Jabil Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Intelligent Infrastructure, “Hanley Energy Group has established itself as a global innovator in critical power and energy management, with exceptional engineering talent across Ireland and North America,” Bailey said. “Its expertise in designing, building, and commissioning turnkey mission-critical power solutions from the grid all the way to the hyperscale data center complements Jabil’s growing capabilities in AI data center infrastructure. With Hanley’s deep technical know-how and comprehensive lifecycle services, including design, consulting, deployment, commissioning, and field support services, we will be even better positioned to deliver secure, reliable, and energy-efficient power solutions to our global customers.”

Matt Crowley, Jabil’s Executive Vice President, Global Business Units, Intelligent Infrastructure, noted, “This acquisition fits perfectly with Jabil’s strategy to grow in the data center space, where we’re focused on creating capabilities to deliver custom solutions for hyperscale, co-location, and digital native customers. It now gives us the uniquely differentiated capability to not only design and manufacture these solutions, but also to deploy and service them in the data center.”

Jabil highlights the strategic fit of the acquisition, aiming to expand its service offerings across the data center lifecycle and target hyperscale, colocation, and digital-native operators seeking tailored power and energy management solutions.
