Wesco has completed its acquisition of Newark Engineering Group, a Singapore-based provider of engineered cooling solutions and lifecycle services for data centers. The deal expands Wesco’s data center cooling capabilities and extends its footprint across Southeast Asia.
Newark Engineering designs, installs, and maintains advanced thermal management systems used in data centers. The company provides integrated, customized HVAC services that span design support, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, and ongoing lifecycle services for data centers and other mission-critical infrastructure in the region.
For data center operators, the practical implication is straightforward: bringing engineered cooling and lifecycle services under a larger distribution and services umbrella can simplify how projects are sourced and executed, especially when deployments need consistent commissioning and maintenance practices across multiple countries. But execution matters—thermal management outcomes are won or lost in installation quality, commissioning discipline, and long-term service responsiveness.
“Newark Engineering brings specialized expertise in designing, installing and maintaining advanced thermal management systems critical to data center performance and reliability,” said Wesco Chairman, President, and CEO John Engel. “This acquisition expands Wesco’s participation in the data center value chain, while strengthening the company’s presence across Southeast Asia.”
Newark Engineering is headquartered in Singapore and has offices in Malaysia and Indonesia. Wesco is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
