M5ERS, a semiconductor startup focused on ultra-low-power Accelerated Processing Units (APUs), has joined the Arm Flexible Access program to speed development of energy-efficient chips targeted at next-generation edge AI and data center applications. The company says the program will help it prototype faster and move APU products to market.
Arm reports that Flexible Access for Startups provides “$0 access to a broad portfolio of Arm technology, tools, training and support,” aimed at enabling rapid experimentation and design. M5ERS says it will use Arm technology to prototype and deliver its proprietary ultra-low-power semiconductor solutions.
M5ERS says its team includes veterans from Broadcom, Intel, Samsung, and Qualcomm, plus startup experience at Atheros Communications, Indilinx, and Silicon Image. The company is based in Sunnyvale, California, and says it is developing ultra-low-power APUs intended to support sustainable and scalable artificial intelligence applications.
“The Arm Flexible Access program is a strategic catalyst for M5ERS, boosting the expansion of our product roadmap,” said Bumsoo Kim, Founder and CEO of M5ERS. “It enables us to drive innovation in ultra-efficient circuitry that advances performance-per-watt for applications across the intelligent edge and high-performance data center environments.”
