Accuenergy unveils AcuHMI gateway and HMI display for streamlined data center power and PDU monitoring

Accuenergy has announced the release of the AcuHMI, a 7-inch touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI) that serves as a multi-protocol gateway for data center power distribution units and other facility systems. According to Accuenergy, the AcuHMI is designed to simplify real-time data integration, device monitoring, and control in complex environments such as data centers, industrial automation settings, energy management platforms, and building automation applications.

The AcuHMI features an 800×480 pixel capacitive touchscreen and combines HMI display, protocol gateway, and data concentrator functions in a single platform. This device supports data consolidation from large-scale deployments of power and energy monitoring devices, providing operators with system-wide visibility without the need for multiple external gateways.

For connectivity, the AcuHMI supports Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, and SNMP protocols, enabling integration with meters, power distribution units, and controllers across various systems. It is equipped with dual Ethernet ports with Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and dual RS485 ports for daisy-chained networks, which reduces wiring complexity and enables reliable communication particularly suited for data centers and manufacturing facilities.

The device provides 32 GB onboard memory for data logging. Data can be automatically transferred in CSV or JSON formats using HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, or SFTP to facilitate analysis and reporting. The built-in web server supports a browser-based Webpage Interface for device setup, real-time visualization, and remote configuration. Alarms can be configured based on thresholds, hysteresis, and events to support proactive maintenance and improve uptime for critical infrastructure.

Accuenergy reports that the AcuHMI aims to bridge the gap between operational technology and IT, addressing challenges related to protocol translation, data logging, and system complexity. “The AcuHMI addresses one of the most persistent integration challenges operators face today,” said Ryan Manbahal, Product Manager at Accuenergy. “Many facilities still depend on separate devices for protocol translation, monitoring, and data logging. With the AcuHMI, operators gain a single, intuitive platform that reduces system complexity, eliminates redundant hardware, and improves overall connectivity.”
