Pioneer Power Solutions has announced the debut of PRYMUS, a mobile distributed power platform designed to deliver rapid, scalable energy solutions for data centers, AI applications, and other power-intensive sectors. According to Pioneer, PRYMUS builds on its e-Boost mobile EV charging platform and is engineered to address increasing demand for quickly deployable megawatt-scale power, particularly in data centers supporting AI server racks and high-performance chipsets.
PRYMUS delivers pre-engineered energy blocks ranging from 1 MW to 10 MW. Pioneer claims the units can be delivered and made fully operational at a customer site in approximately six months, a significant reduction from typical two- to three-year utility-grade power deployment timelines. This quick deployment is aimed at supporting modular data centers, especially for testing new AI chipsets and liquid-cooled server racks requiring stable, rapid-response power.
The platform integrates mobile prime generators with multiple fuel options, including natural gas, renewable natural gas, propane, renewable propane, diesel, and renewable diesel. Hybrid power architecture is achieved by pairing these generators with mobile Battery Energy Storage Systems, paralleling switchgear, and advanced controls. This combination is designed to provide robust base load power while enabling rapid response to load spikes common in AI compute environments.
Pioneer states that PRYMUS systems are pre-engineered for inherent redundancy and reliability, and can be later reconfigured into permanent microgrids or operated as standby power blocks once utility connections are established. Targeted applications include modular and containerized data centers, industrial manufacturing, specialized testing, and telecommunications.
PRYMUS is already being piloted with modular and containerized data center providers, distributed energy partners, and commercial EV charging operators. Pioneer expects PRYMUS to begin contributing revenue in 2026.
Geo Murickan, President of Pioneer eMobility, stated: “Our pedigree in deploying complex microgrid projects equips us to engineer PRYMUS with proven, resilient architecture right out of the box,” “By combining multi-fuel prime generation with mBESS for dynamic load management, we strive to deliver a superior power quality package capable of meeting the rigorous demands of next-generation AI chipsets and liquid-cooled systems, effectively transforming power generation into a mobile, plug-and-play solution.”
