LiquidJet Nexus integrated liquid cooling targets 1/2U AI trays like Kyber

Frore Systems has introduced LiquidJet Nexus, an integrated liquid-cooling system aimed at 1/2 U AI compute trays, including designs like NVIDIA Kyber. The company is targeting the thermal constraints that show up as AI compute densities increase and more of the performance envelope gets gated by how efficiently heat can be pulled off devices and rejected upstream.

LiquidJet Nexus is designed to directly cool GPUs, CPUs, DPUs, NICs, DC-DC power converters, and VRs in a 1/2 U form factor. The system integrates multiple multi-stage 3D short-loop jetchannel LiquidJet coldplates into a unified, tray-level cooling assembly, with the stated goal of simplifying the physical “thermal stack” inside the compute tray by integrating elements that are typically implemented with separate hoses, connectors, and manifolds.

Frore Systems lists several performance and mechanical claims for the platform: 75% higher heat-transfer efficiency, components running 8 °C cooler, and a 65% reduction in thermal stack weight. It also says LiquidJet Nexus eliminates tray-level hoses, connectors, and manifolds, and supports 1/2 U compute trays for “2x higher compute density per rack.” Frore also claims the approach enables a 53 °C inlet temperature, which it says can eliminate the need for mechanical chillers and reduce data center power consumption by 10%.

The practical angle for data center engineers is straightforward: as per-tray power rises and packaging compresses toward 1/2 U, the plumbing, mass, and assembly complexity inside the tray can become just as limiting as the coldplate’s raw thermal performance. If a unified coldplate system really can reduce interconnects and still hit the required thermal resistance, it can help on reliability and serviceability, not just temperatures.

“The industry has revolutionized the AI software stack and scaled the AI compute stack,” said Dr. Seshu Madhavapeddy, founder and CEO of Frore Systems. “The AI Thermal Stack is now a fundamental layer of AI infrastructure, and innovation in that layer will determine how far AI performance can scale.”

Frore Systems also highlighted its broader thermal lineup, including LiquidJet and AirJet.

Frore Systems did not provide pricing or availability details for LiquidJet Nexus in the material describing the product.
