DG Matrix and PowerSecure team up on power systems for AI data centers and microgrids

DG Matrix has announced a strategic collaboration with PowerSecure to deliver “next-generation energy systems” aimed at AI data centers and electrification projects. The companies say the collaboration pairs DG Matrix’s solid-state transformer technology and Power Router platform with PowerSecure’s microgrid delivery and lifecycle support, targeting faster deployment, resiliency, and scalability.

DG Matrix says it will provide “advanced solid-state transformer technology and Power Router platform” intended to simplify power conversion and enable integration of renewables, storage, and grid resources. PowerSecure says it will contribute expertise in microgrid solutions along with deployment capacity and service coverage.

“Through PowerSecure’s market access and operational capabilities, we gain immediate customer channels, deployment capacity and service coverage for our Power Router platform,” said Haroon Inam, CEO of DG Matrix. “Together, we’re setting a new benchmark for distributed energy and AI datacenter infrastructure.”

“This collaboration accelerates the path from concept to deployment by integrating DG Matrix’s technology with PowerSecure’s delivery and lifecycle support, enabling customers to meet dynamic AI load requirements with faster execution, greater resiliency and scalable, future-ready infrastructure,” said Jim Smith, president of PowerSecure.

DG Matrix positions its technology as a standardized solid-state transformer platform for AI data center power infrastructure, stating it has “commercialized the world’s first multi-port solid-state transformer.” PowerSecure, a subsidiary of Southern Company, reports it has developed, installed, managed, and serviced “over 3 gigawatts of microgrid capacity” in the US.
