Huawei upgrades Stellar intelligent network solution for Europe with 100T switches

Huawei has updated its Stellar Intelligent Network Solution for the Europe region, expanding the portfolio across Stellar Intelligent Fabric, Stellar Intelligent WAN, and Stellar Intelligent Campus Network. The upgrade targets data center and enterprise networks that are being pushed harder by AI training, inference, and multi-site computing, where link efficiency, fault isolation time, and security controls directly affect delivered performance.

For Stellar Intelligent Fabric, Huawei is using self-developed 100T switches in a two-layer, multi-plane architecture. Huawei claims this quadruples networking scale while reducing the number of switches and optical modules by 30%, with a corresponding reduction in total cost of ownership. Huawei also says its Network Packet Load Balancing (NPLB) algorithm can drive network-wide link utilization to 98% and increase training and inference performance by over 7%.

In multi-vendor environments, Huawei says its xFlow technology enables intelligent full-flow analysis and can demarcate faults within one minute. Huawei also says its AI Eagle-Eye Engine can complete root-cause analysis in minutes, aimed at improving data center network resilience when troubleshooting time is the real limiter, not raw bandwidth.

On the WAN side, Huawei says its Starnet lossless algorithm delivers over 95% cross-region computing efficiency and can cut private-line costs by 60%. Huawei also described a proprietary layer-wise model partitioning approach intended to keep raw data on-premises to reduce data leakage risk when distributing workloads across sites.

Huawei added security elements it describes as an intrinsic security board that detects and blocks intrusions in real time and traces threats in minutes with over 95% accuracy. Huawei also described a built-in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) board, which it says integrates communications and quantum security while cutting deployment costs by over 60%. At the network layer, Huawei points to an APN6-based “data fencing” capability intended to protect sensitive data by industry.

For Stellar Intelligent Campus Network, Huawei says its multi-AP coordination technology and dynamic-zoom smart antennas reduce wireless interference by 84% and deliver twice the industry-average networking performance. Huawei also highlighted a full series of multi-GE switches and right-to-use (RTU) licensing, which it says reduce the TCO of 10 Gbps campus networks by over 30%.

Operationally, Huawei says upgrades to network autonomy across data, algorithms, and tools can bring mean time to repair (MTTR) down to within 5 minutes. It also says local intelligent inference on switches enables real-time anomaly detection, reducing threat detection time from 5 minutes to under 10 seconds. Huawei further claims Wi‑Fi Shield and end-to-end Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) provide quantum-safe wired and wireless links, and that branch gateways include over 20 inline algorithms that boost unknown threat detection rates to 95% with millisecond-level blocking.

Huawei also introduced additional mid-range to high-end eKit SME Network products, including Aura10/AR580 series converged gateways with antivirus and IPS functions, S630 series 10GE core switches that combine switching and WAC functions to manage up to 1K APs, and AP362H access points with built-in smart antennas that Huawei says boost gains by 1.6x.

One practical reality for operators: a lot of the promised value here depends on how Huawei’s utilization, performance, and detection claims hold up under real traffic mixes, multi-vendor constraints, and the operational overhead of turning these features on without creating new failure modes.
